About our school

Browns Lane Pre-School has been privately owned and managed by Mrs Maria Meldrum since 1996 and accepts children from two to five years old.

The school is located in the Ravenscroft Guide and Community Centre and is a large, safe and secure building within its own grounds in the heart of Storrington.

Inside is a very large hall where the children can play with a diverse range of equipment and toys to stimulate and support the six areas of learning. The children have treasure-troves of fun like manipulating playdough, dressing up as a mermaid or an astronaut, role playing in the home corner (cooking and ironing, etc.), building and balancing with bricks and lego, listening to a story in the book corner or colouring on the drawing table.

The rear garden has a large awning the length of the building which allows the children to play outside in all weathers, learning about Mother Nature, watching spiders weave their webs, bug hunting, planting, growing and playing in the Wendy house.

The front garden has extensive open, hard and safe play areas, giving the children opportunities to play on the climbing frame, trampoline, bikes, scooters, dolls prams, rockers, tents and tunnels as well as quiet areas to look at a book.

We have t-shirts and sweatshirts with our Browns Lane logo on available to buy.

We offer a summer play scheme for one week in August. This is only available to Browns Lane Pre-School children.
